2016 Postmortem

I think there's a good chance of that, because it's what always happens when a contest ends.
Think sporting events you can talk all the trash you want leading up to the game, but when the final score is posted, the winners won and the losers go home.
Think politics - all of the Republican candidates who were battling Trump exited the campaign without little fury. Even Little Marco - who bore the brunt of Trump's childish name calling - disappeared from the scene quickly and has now endorsed Trump.
Think of Martin O'Malley, who gave it a shot but left quietly when he decided it was over for him.
Think of John Kasich, who didn't win very much but who also left quietly.
There's really no upside for Sanders to make a stink or launch threats or clamor for attention, because once it's over, it's over. The media moves on. The country moves on.
All that's left is for the Convention to put their stamp of approval on the candidate that the wide majority of voters have selected as the D nominee, Hillary Clinton.
Here's to Sanders doing what's always tough to do, but what always needs to happen.

(3,316 posts)the answer is hell no-he'll keep on screaming until Hillary is sworn in come January and I'm not sure he'll shut up even then!

He won't be holding rallies after today. He won't be getting any free media time, either. He'll be fading away in spite of what he wants to do.

(14,524 posts)Is there some part of "in this until the convention" you don't comprehend?
Will Hillary "go away quietly" when she gets indicted?

I just assume that "in this until the convention" is political speak, sorta like "I will release my tax returns" (another Sanders promise you shouldn't count on).

(5,356 posts)He thinks the media has been unfair to him before? Wait until they call it for Clinton! He'll disappear overnight.
Although on the other hand, he'll probably be invited to keep bashing Democrats on Fox News. Or maybe he'll pull some kind of stunt outside the convention. After that though, I can't imagine what he could do that would possibly be newsworthy.
