Bernie Sanders is taking a big risk: If he doesnít drop out soon, he could become a villain

http://www.salon.com/2016/06/07/bernie_sanders_is_taking_a_big_risk_if_he_doesnt_drop_out_soon_he_could_become_a_villain/

The notion that Bernie and his surrogates continue to behave as if the superdelegates are still in play is the beginning of the end of Bernieís reputation, even with some of his supporters, including online journalists who are disavowing their support.

There was a time when we could look to Bernie as the conscience of the left. Today, however, his moral high ground position is rapidly evaporating. Among other reasons, Bernie and his people have been deliberately swindling the public about delegate math and the alleged fluidity of superdelegates for weeks now and, in the past several days, the deception has grown thicker than ever. (Bernie told the National Press Club, for example, that a majority of pledged delegates is 2,383, even though itís actually 2,026.) The Bernie campaign is telling us that somehow the superdelegates, who have affirmed their support to networks and publications of record, will, for the first time ever, inexplicably abandon the winner of a majority of pledged delegates and the winner of the popular vote for a relatively untested democratic-socialist becauseÖ why? California? May polling for the November election? Rally attendance?

This is like cajoling a homeowner to sell a house to a buyer who doesnít have the money, but who just really, really, really wants it, and all their friends say they deserve to own it. Indeed, suggesting that supers donít count because they havenít officially voted at the convention is like announcing that you havenít eaten lunch until youíve fully digested it. Itís like hearing from contrarian wonks who wait for the electoral college to hold its ceremonial votes in December before acknowledging the obvious winner of the November election.

14. Exactly why I've been saying for weeks that as a Hillary supporter, I would prefer if he stay in!

It would be more enjoyable, from a sadistic standpoint to watch his decline into irrelevance in the public eye. And I think we stand a better chance at Democratic unity if his supporters were to see it too, which would help to lessen his hero status and reinforce that politicians are by necessity people with large egos.

48. Voting Hillary is NOT taking a progressive nor a liberal stand...

It's linking oneself to the two family dynasty of the Bushies and Clintons.

Not to mention this:

Look at the contrast:

And the Hillary smear machine has tried to make Bernie look like the badguy while playing victims of the the same.

Hillary still wants to put black kids in prison for pot while letting bankers go free.

She claims she is the most transparent candidate but keeps everything secret. Even speeches to elements she once regulated and want to regulate again (after taking millions of dollars from them because she can't find enough grassroots to pay for her smear machine)....

when the shit hits the fan. They want to be able to plug in anyone of their choosing if, and when, that happens. If they were really confident of their situation then they wouldn't treat Bernie as a threat.

And about the house analogy....Dems are being cajoled to buy a property full of mold and in need of serious repair but being marketed as a pristine charmer.

In the WASP narrative.

Not supporting Bernie?

Why are people anti-semites?

Is it anti-semitic to attack Bernie the way that has been done the last year or so?

Call yourself a Christian?

Why are people calling themselves Jesus followers and give their vote to money lenders instead of the liberal Jew who stands up to them?

The Establishment don't care an ounce about minorities.

Bernie have done so since black&ewhite television.

Think Goldman Sachs have noble intentions by giving both Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton millions of dollars in "donations"? Anyone here who thinks that rich people dish out money to political candidates on both sides don't have alteriar motives?

Bernie has a choice. He can be a power in the Senate and help to elect progressives nation wide. He can advocate legislation important to him and get far more play.

OR

He can keep trying to stay aboard a sinking ship and divide the left, thereby helping Trump.

53. How about the one who had said he misled the American Public

I know that history is still being written, most here kind of dislike him a lot also. Yet at least when it came to congress asking him if he was lying, he had to fess up.

Course on the other side, he more than stepped in it, he had both hands into it and they were about to rub his nose in it at the same time they were firing him for a laundry list of things

Seems like eons ago when congress was even trying to carry around this kind of fig leaf of honesty. Now they just vote it in unannounced and secretively

37. Exactly.

I think he as been getting somer very bad advice from his team, and of course his over zealous radical supporters. They have pushed him into making choices that are going to really hurt him if he continues down this road. I still like the guy and think he would be better off to drop out and continue to push his ideas in congress, and encourage people to get out and vote for more progressive candidates for the future. It all starts at local levels, then on to state levels before it goes to the national level. We need to take back our local and state governments from the republicans in order to implement change.

I hope Bernie makes the right choice.

You only have to look at what the Associated Pukes did today to know how terrified our corpo-militarist rulers are of "we, the people" taking back our government.

SIX MONTHS of black-holing by the Corrupt Media! And when he starts winning states by blow-out margins, he's treated as a footnote to Hillary's "inevitability." Meanwhile, the Corrupt Media CREATES Trump out of nothing, as the perfect foil for their Wall Street candidate.

Bernie has already worked a miracle. He inspired millions -- almost half the primary voters -- with an alternative to the Corporate Machine.

He was the cute old uncle when he wasn't a threat to the system.

But once he actually starts to become a Threat to the Machine, the powers that be do the Big Clamp Down.

"Sure you can have your nice little message campaign. But DON'T YOU DARE actually contest our power."

He is the head of a tsunami that has forged a coalition of progressives and independents that vastly outnumbers the Third Way Democrats.

He makes his own destiny now, with the support of MILLIONS of followers. He has changed the face of politics in America and influenced people aound the world to seek a way that is better than this status quo.

HE is on the right side of history. He, right now, is the locus of power and momentum.

Hillary's average crowd size is 347.
