I hadn't seen the endorsement yet. It's a very nice endorsement.
I'm so proud. The first AA president endorses the first woman to win the nomination of a major political party.
It's time for unity and to turn our focus on defeating Trump, to flip the Senate and win more seats in the House. Let's also not forget to fight to elect more Democratic governors and state officials.

(146,350 posts)It's going to take a strong campaign and party unity.
Hillary Clinton will have both, despite a few stubborn detractors.
"Don't believe me? Just watch!"
chapdrum
(930 posts)We can endorse that, or not. That's understood.
Apart from this, my dissatisfaction is not so much the predictable coronation, but that we, once again, are left with the lesser of two undesirable (in my view) choices. Certainly I'd vote for HRC over the sociopath, but if this is the best we can do, on top of the provisional ballots handed out in the CA primary that put Sanders at a disadvantage...
workinclasszero
(28,270 posts)We need to get control of congress back to the democratic party and give Americans the help they need and get the economy into high gear without the damned republicans feet on the brakes.
Also to break the republican obstruction of judicial appointments and start looking at great liberal judges worthy of SCOTUS when an opening occurs on the bench.
MineralMan
(146,350 posts)and go a long way toward a majority in the House. It's just possible that we might win control of the House, too, but that is more unlikely.

(1,724 posts)and it may never be in the bag if the FBI keeps nosing around and no, I don't like the idea of Bill Clinton being her "economic adviser".
In fact I don't care for either of them and I have no intention of voting for them.
Sad state of affairs that the USA cannot do better than this! I just received an email from a European friend and the message was quite clear.
"I am amazed what's going on in US politics. Are trump and Hillary really the best you have..... I think the president election process is buggy."
We look like fools to the rest of the word, fools! I guess you haven't quite figured that out yet.

(930 posts)to the rest of the world.
I don't think that the average American even thinks about (let alone cares about) the rest of the world.
We seem that narcissistic (HRC and Trump are examples).
happynewyear
(1,724 posts)We need to get off of the high horse we've been riding on for too many years. The image we have created of ourselves and our country is doing the American people no good whether they are aware of it or not. One example is that of riots breaking out at campaign rallies and the like. It makes our citizenry appear to some that we are a bunch of out-of-control self-serving fools!
The example I provide is just one example of how America is viewed by others in different parts of the world and if we want things to get better, we need to BE BETTER too.
If we don't care, well I guess that speaks for itself. Too many people are busy texting one another and playing video games to live in the real world it seems to me at times.

(81,594 posts)This whole campaign has had me thinking back to the "Blues Brothers," MM. (Hey, I'm OLD.) But I keep bumping up against a reference they made - to a "wish sandwich." Which is - "you have two pieces of bread, and you WISH you had some meat."
Frankly, it's something we've all tasted at one time or other.

It's time to wake up and see reality. Hillary will be #45. It's on.
