It's a veritable twofer. We would also get a Kennedy back in the Senate; Joseph P. Kennedy lllauntpurl

(6,282 posts)We have a powerful progressive voice on banking reform and income inequality in the U.S. Senate, so let's remove her and give her a ceremonial position with limited actual power. That'll do it!
It's a horrible idea, even though the optics might be favorable and might help Hillary's chances of being elected.

Putting Warren at VP (or even in Cabinet), dilutes the potential for at least discussion of non neo-liberal solutions regards banking and income distribution issues.
I am very curious as to the VP candidate,

(4,187 posts)People would say he has benefited unfairly from name recognition and got where he is on his ancestors' coat tails.
Wait. Never mind. That sort of thing is only a concern when the topic is Hillary Clinton.

(13,598 posts)Yes, Warren would make a good VP. But there are plenty of other people who would make just as good VPs without handing a senate seat to the Republicans.

(85,996 posts)...kind of like when Bill and Al ran together.
I thought it wasn't smart, but it turned out to just multiply Bill's strengths.

(294 posts)I think Castro would be a great choice, but based on what Clinton has herself said, I doubt that will happen. She has said that she wants someone with experience that could immediately take the role of the president. Give Castro a few years and he will be a very strong name for the future.

(7,596 posts)I've just discovered this guy recently and I've liked everything I've heard about him so far. He's much better than Julian Castro and is actually someone I'd feel comfortable with being a heartbeat away from the presidency.

She just told me that the other day, after she attened a pre-primary political meeting (no booze).
I'm still trying to come to terms with the anger.
She plans on moving to another county to run, escaping the Dem party boss here.
It wasn't the party boss, it was his campaign manager, who acts as the tri-county gatekeeper.

(3,687 posts)It's a waste of one of the few truly Progressive Senators.
Warren is significantly more valuable in the Senate than buried under CLinton's neocon thumb

(5,737 posts)The VP doesn't in the Senate except to break a tie vote. other than that, they really can't influence legislation much. Both Warren and Hillary understand that very well.
