If The GOP Establishment Dumped Trump who do you think would replace him

at the head of the ticket?

(My guess is that this is not likely to happen as it will upset just as many GOP voters as it pleases--they are going to have to ride the Trump horse this year. But just in case...)

Personally, I think a sheet of plywood would have better chances, but I can easily see them nominating a piece of moldy bread over the sheet of plywood.

Trump is well known for abandoning businesses that do not meet his profit requirements.
See my link below, which indicates that he is paying his companies from campaign funds. What if this run for President was nothing more than to find a legal way to use campaign funds to enrich his businesses? (The campaign rented his own house for $400,000.00 for a press conference. That was tidy profit to a Trump business.)

Up until now, I have assumed that his ego drove him to be President. I am beginning to think this is just another scheme to con money from suckers, like Trump University. He will take as much of the money donated to him and pay his own companies for services. If it looks like the money is drying up, he will claim Republicans were not fair to him and withdraw having made millions for his various businesses.

I wonder what are people's thinking on this, if they think either of these things will happen. Rationally, I don't think the likelihood of either is at all significant. That said, I can understand having a certain disbelief that he will be the Republican candidate for president.

they're just in damage control mode, they're trying to figure out how they can insulate congressional and gubernatorial candidates from the trumpocalypse.

right now they're pretending they can prevent him from getting the nomination, only because they haven't got any better ideas.

the reality is that they'd do even more damage to themselves if they overturned the primary results. in the long run, they can excuse one loser candidate. they'd have a harder time recovering from overturning their own election arbitrarily after the fact.

just imaging how the violent trump loyalists would react, it would not make for a pretty general election at all.

very hard to imagine anyone building a viable campaign from the ashes of the trump bonfire, especially with a late start.

that said, the role of any trump replacement will not be to defeat hillary, the real role will be simply to contain the damage to the republican brand and minimize hillary's coattails.

I don't think it matters at this point really. The Trumpers will stay home if The Donald gets screwed out of the nomination.

This is what the right deserves though for putting these fools up.
