Dont believe the fear mongering. We live in a global economy, we either lead or get left behind.

9. there are plenty of other good ways to do that. The TPP

is not one. It's horrific in its transfer of power from sovereign governments to private transnational corporations.

Our trade deficit is enormous and we losing entire industries overseas. What would getting left behind mean? Do you even know? What good does it do to raise labor and environmental standards when other countries don't follow the agreement? What good does it do to take tariffs off Chinese goods but they still get to put tariffs on our goods? Then we agree to these trade courts that rule against us every time. We're playing the game against the wind, uphill, with the sun in our eyes and our shoes tied together. It's not fair trade. Every other country has got to think we are the dumbest negotiators ever.

BEING INcluded in the platform I think you might be getting some for or against the TPP in there.

eta - I have no idea what both the above mean at all???

11. I've heard the argument that some party officials are either against or neutral on the issue,

but feel it would be wrong for the official party platform to hold a position not aligned with POTUS.
I suspect that some who may read the poll are slightly in favor of TPP and also have major qualms about the platform not aligning as detailed above.

4. TPP will lower labor standards.

Like NAFTA, the TPP is designed to facilitate the needs of capitalists, not workers. The provisions in many sections were actually written by lobbyists from affected industries with no participation or input from the bottom 99%.

The TPP is the ALEC model of legislating applied to treaty writing.

The platform language acknowledges opposition to the TPP, but takes no position for or against

6. clarify the question please, you ask should if it should be mentioned

ie. included in the platform, but not what stance (pro TPP or anti TPP) that plank will say.

If I click against on your poll I am simply saying I dont want it mentioned. I want it mentioned and that mention should oppose TPP.

I suspect that a lot of people are answering the question "TTP: are you for it or against it?" as a proxy for the question actually asked, which deals with tactics and is probably harder to answer without insider information.
