(7,960 posts)Has any nominee ever been indicted before a convention? Sounds like it could be a good premise for a novel.
My guess is that Sanders would fight like hell but the Clinton delegates and the DNC would fall in behind a respected elder statesman--a Joe Biden or Jerry Brown type. (Nah not Brown--too independent minded).
My wildcard candidate if things go south--Nancy Pelosi.
BTW, I don't think she'll be indicted but thanks to Bill's mucking around with the AG this is not going away as quickly as one would hope.

(58,785 posts)of some that Bernie could somehow win by accident? The "case" will be that Hillary continues campaigning through July, is formally chosen as our nominee at the convention (balloons and confetti will drop as people cheer and lights flash, etc.), and continues campaigning.

(16,916 posts)if it's bad news for Hillary it's also bad news for Dems. I wanted Bernie to win the nomination, but not this way.

Does anyone actually think that HRC knowingly and willfully mishandled classified documents or (alternatively) exercised gross negligence in their handling?
These are among the necessary conditions set forth in Title 18. Absent those prerequisites, no crime has been committed.
If you think that these necessary conditions have been fulfilled, then you would also have to conclude that many of the people who sent emails to Clinton at her private server address are also open to prosecution for the same offense.

(171,104 posts)I'm pretty much a cavewoman when it comes to server issues. How would the respondents to anything Clinton sent out necessarily know anything about her server? Could they not just assume all was in order and aboveboard?
