Here We Go Again: GOPers Demand Independent Counsel For Clinton Emails

Here We Go Again: GOPers Demand Independent Counsel For Clinton Emails

Some Republican lawmakers are now calling for an independent counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton's use of private email server while secretary of state following a public recommendation Tuesday from the FBI director that Clinton not be charged criminally, according to The Washington Post.

Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) said the FBI was "steeped in political bias" and brought up a new favorite conservative talking point: the tarmac meeting In Phoenix last week between former President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch, according to the Post.

"The role of the independent counsel is to keep investigations honest and prosecutorial decisions independent of the political, personal and financial conflicts of interest that undermine accountability in government," Turner told WaPo. "It is time for Secretary Clinton to be held accountable for her extremely careless actions.”

FBI Director James Comey is a registered Republican who donated to John McCain and Mitt Romney's campaigns, according to voting records.

I think it will always be more with the Clintons just because they have so much practice on them and the years of attacks have set the public mind to accept it. I know dems who think it is acceptable, Yes, I Look at the attacks on Obama, but not so much the investigations. I think the attacks on Obama were more vicious and racist, but not as many committee investigations.

CONGRESSIONAL REPUBLICANS VOTE TO ABOLISH F.B.I.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In a stunning rebuke to one of the nation’s oldest and most established law-enforcement agencies, House Republicans voted unanimously on Tuesday to abolish the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Unlike most House measures, which come up for a vote only after months or even years of sluggish effort, the bill to eliminate the F.B.I. was drafted in a matter of minutes on Tuesday morning, Republican staffers confirmed.

House Speaker Paul Ryan offered no specific reason for the Republicans’ sudden frenzy of activity to abolish the F.B.I., but said that the Bureau represented “big government at its worst.”

On edit: Andy Borowitz is satire, but it seemed fitting here.

It just keeps pounding away. This is how the GoPEE operates now: obstruction, voter suppression, complicit media. Over and over. And always placing blame and derision in an extremely partisan manner. They couldn't care less about any greater good.

The GOP will be calling for an independent counsel to investigate every parking ticket, unpaid late fees from blockbuster and the library, every time Hillary told Chelsea that Santa was real, ad nauseum.
