2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMy guess is that Hillary's poll numbers will go up.
That awesome appearance with the President and his overwhelming and unconditional support for her ("I'm handing the baton to Hillary!" cannot be overstated regarding its positive effect on voters. Second, she was NOT INDICTED. That's what the electorate will understand, not the confusing and somewhat rambling anti-Hillary statements by Republican FBI director Comey. Tomorrow Biden will step up for our presumptive nominee, hopefully followed by more presidential appearances with her. The selection of her VP, needs to be a minority, imo, will create great excitement. And then the convention will put the icing on Hillary's political cake.
This email brouhaha will quickly evaporate, while the Rump continues to put foot into tiny mouth.

I fully expect the RNC to be hilariously bad. At least, I hope it is. My DVR is all set.

(36,926 posts)Their conventions were something I always avoided like the plague. Not this time!

(10,891 posts)I always watch the conventions at home so I can skip around with the remote.
But, this time I may want to enjoy it with other Dems. So, will be on the lookout for an Atlanta watch party.

(83 posts)But I bet there will be a lot of armed Trump supporters outside the zone - protesters better watch out.

(67,112 posts)played right. "Madman Trump" clearly shows the true face of the GOP. And he's their guy, apparently what the GOP wants as he resonates the GOP values.
I'd love to see both the House and Senate back with the democrats. Then, maybe the US can accomplish more without all of this GOP sh** and their NO all of the time, and the fighting and disrespect they bring to their GOP offices.

(2,493 posts)Hillary's numbers are what they are and she's not getting any more popular. I do expect her to defeat Trump, probably handily.

(83 posts)A lot of it is because I am just too lazy to inform people of my email address change (some not in my contact list). When I have informed people of the change, some do not pick up on it and continue to send to my previous email address. Since I'm a private contractor, missing an email could mean losing a work project. Therefore, I just check each email account. I know I could set them up to be sent to one email address, but I prefer not to since my older accounts tend to be filled mainly with spam.
Clinton had little control of where incoming emails were coming from, but it seems the GOP have jumped on that too. And we know they will continue the witch hunt because they have little else to pin on her. Part of me thinks that the Clintons have some damning evidence against the GOP and/or the FBI (hence Bill's visit with Loretta Lynch and the FBI findings coming out soon after). I also think that Hillary set up her account on a private server not to relay classified information to foreign entities, but to protect information from the GOP. I would not put it pass the GOP to expose secret operations to the press.

Her winning the presidency will go up, but she's running against a moron.
