2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTrump really stepped in it with comments about Saddam Hussein.
The absolutely only justification for the Iraq War that has holds any water, given no WMDs, is that Saddam was a bad guy and the world is better off with him gone. But here comes Trump, expressing admiration for Saddam for extrajudicial killing: "He was a bad guy -- really bad guy. But you know what? He did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn't read them the rights. They didn't talk. They were terrorists. Over. Today, Iraq is Harvard for terrorism," Trump said
So exactly who is going to vote for Trump because of this praise of Saddam? Not Sanders Democrats. Trump is only conveniently against the Iraq War now - he did not oppose the war in 2002. And obviously not the Republicans who stood with Bush and Chaney on the war. And he may actually lose some voters. It is things like this which are making his numbers go down, imo.

Being the only terrorist on the block does not constitute redeeming qualities. On more than one occasion, Trump has spotted a pile of excrement, headed directly to it, and put his foot square in the mess.
