Pro-Donald NRA Ad Appears to Incite Violence Against Hillary

Hillary’s commitment to prioritizing people’s safety over the profits of the gun lobby, and to amplifying the voices of women whose families have been victimized by gun violence, has earned her the ire of the NRA. Now the NRA is running a pro-Donald and explicitly anti-Hillary ad containing violent imagery and the admonishment: “Stop Hillary Now.”

I cannot put this any more plainly: This is eliminationist imagery. The juxtaposition of violent imagery with the words “Stop Hillary Now” incites action that is well beyond electoral defeat.

The election is in November. To urge viewers to stop Hillary “now” is not suggesting that they show up at the polls in several months.

The irresponsibility of this ad is breathtaking. It is utterly indefensible — particularly because it does not exist in a vacuum. It exists within a cultural climate of escalating gun violence, and within a political climate in which Donald’s rallies are rife with violent rhetoric directed at Hillary:

It is a political climate in which Donald, the candidate in whose support this ad was made, stands at a podium on national television and kills a mosquito he then addresses as “Hillary.” Which fits into a historical pattern of eliminationist rhetoric that identifies opponents as vermin or pests that need to be exterminated.

This is indecent and intolerable.

They just crossed a line, Pierre and Trump both need visits from the Secret Service.

and I'm actually sick to my stomach. You're right, sheshe; the Secret Service needs to have a chat with them. I hope the officers protecting Hillary have seen this.

Look what happened the last few days.

Now we have Pierre and Trump sending death threats to Hillary. Then we have Joe Wilson demanding a war on black people and names Obama, said he had better watch out. Now we have the Bahama's issuing travel warnings for black males coming to America. This is what we have become.

Frankly, I fear for Hillary, Obama and PoC.

Gun violence, NRA and Trump loves guns in hands of those who are not capable of handling them.

To encourage the crazies to target Hillary is dangerous and revolting! They have gone too far. The GOP needs to unequivocally denounce this.
