Why is the Progressive wing worrying about the Progressive Agenda without control

of the House or Senate.

IMO, That is old fashion counting your chickens before they hatch or getting the cart in front of the horse.

It seems like we are always out of sync with the process. We have to get Progressives to run and get elected then get pass an agenda.

The focus should be on regaining control of both Senate and House, so that we CAN make a progressive agenda that STICKS.

We need accurate vote counting machines and public funding of elections and a really free press free from corporate control.

Some might call that a revolution. I'd have to agree. So first is revolution.

I don't think the DNC or even the California Democratic are working very hard. This has been true for several years now, the seat is given to the Republicans. This year the man who ran as Democratic called himself a libertarian leaner. California Congressional District 1.

When they ask why they should vote for you? What do you support? Do you actually think "not Republican" is good enough???

No doubt over a span of decades, perception of that floats around various signifiers.

The platform is one of the places where the results of that argument can be penned with some authority about the current state of self-perception.

While that's peripheral to a presidential campaign that has succeeded at the primary level ( and is now campaigning against a republican candidate who has no ideological legitimacy in his own party) the platform is still something that broadly, if imprecisely, represents the party ideology.

The platform has importance to voters, especially Democratic voters many of whom seem confused about the Party they affiliate with and who ask "what does it mean to be a Democrat and what do Democrats stand for?

People aren't going to vote for an agenda they don't agree with.

'08 was a perfect example of this. Obama laid out an aggressive agenda and then people flocked to him.

You have to build the cart for the horses to pull.
