Contrast in Party Unity

The Democrats will have a party unity event tomorrow when Bernie Sanders does a joint-event with HRC, and more party unity starting July 25 at our convention.

The Republican Convention is in one week, and people NOT expected to be there include:
George H. W. Bush
George W. Bush
Jeb Bush
John Kasich
Mitt Romney
John McCain
---

Bob Dole is their only former presidential nominee expected to attend the Republican Convention.

Our governor (Baker) has said he wont vote Trump (or Clinton).

The most amazing is that Kasich, OH governor and a popular one, wont be going, as of now, to the convention in his own state. Really? This tells us a lot about the party.

First and foremost, Kasich has a genuine security nightmare on his hands and he's going to have an actual job to do while the circus is in town.

But then, if everything goes completely down the sewer in Cleveland, Kasich wants to be the guy who walks through the crowds and into the building to restore the situation.

It's the age-old plan of aspiring usurpers. Let things go to hell, then show competence (or the illusion of it), then sweep into the power vacuum and fill it to the cheers of the crowds.

...at the extended family Thanksgiving dinner several years ago. She won the power to be the person who did most of the cooking and planning; lucky her (and us).
