The Hill @thehillJUST IN: Clinton meets with Warren again amid VP speculation http://hill.cm/KtJD31D
Hillary Clinton met with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Friday amid a string of conversations with advisers aimed at closing in on a running mate, according to multiple reports.
They met at Clinton's home in Washington, D.C., NBC's Monica Alba reported. The meeting reportedly lasted about an hour.
It's the second time in recent weeks that Warren has visited the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee's home. Members of the media closely followed Warren's private meeting with Clinton last month after the Massachusetts senator formally endorsed her.

Oh, please, let it be Elizabeth! A magnificent choice for VP and President eight years from January.

(4,311 posts)Hillary and Warren have great chemistry. I'm sad it's not a Latino/a, but I'm warming to Warren more and more.

(4,311 posts)He's brilliant and would destroy Pence and Trump. He's also from California - safe seat. Although it doesn't bring us anything state-wise.
I like the idea of a congressperson more than someone from the cabinet - Perez hasn't been elected to anything higher than a county council. He's smart and experienced in other ways - but.

(4,311 posts)who is not nearly as interested in politics as I am, she watches the nightly network news and reads the (fairly conservative) local paper for her news. And she said, "I just love that Elizabeth Warren, she's smart as a whip and tells it like it is."
These are the people who vote reliably, in every election. People like my mom who try her best to keep up with candidates' positions etc through the MSM, and then get up every election day, presidential or not, and drive to the polls and vote a straight Democratic ticket. Those are the people we need.
If my mom likes Warren, I'm in.

(4,311 posts)about Harry Reid (I think it was Reid) researching some sort of special loophole in the law so that there would be a special election rather than letting MA governor pick the replacement. Someone on here will remember more than I do.

(83,751 posts)from what I read here in Mass, is that our Governor Charlie Baker wants the seat. Sad to say he is popular here. We may be a blue state, yet we elect far to many GOPers.
The only candidate I can think of you be our new AG, Maura Healey.

It will not be a safe seat.

(13,305 posts)If there's no chance of us picking up 90 seats or whatever the latest threshold for the Senate to actually get things done, then the 1 seat is not going to make a bit of difference. I'd rather have her right by the oval office especially if it means exciting what used to be considered the base of the Democratic party.

More Here. http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2016/Senate/senate_races.html
Here is a compact table listing all of the Senate candidates known at this point. Some haven't been chosen yet and will not be until the primary in August.
The current breakdown of the Senate is as follows (where we count the two independents as Democrats):
10 Democratic seats up for reelection in 2016 and 36 seats not up, for a total of 46 seats
24 Republican seats up for reelection in 2016 and 30 seats not up, for a total of 54 seats

(7,963 posts)I just think she will be great for the democratic party if she is on the ticket. She can really help with downline as well. I know she is a hard hitter against wall street but she can groom someone else to take her place in those battles.
As VP, she can get more exposure on the international stage and develop her diplomacy skills internationally. This will increase her name recognition nationally and internationally to take the reigns in 8 yrs.

(7,963 posts)During the primaries. I don't know her medical history, but she strikes me as someone who will be spritely at 86.

I am with you. I am 20 some years younger and NO WAY could I keep up with these people. It would kill me as well.

(11,256 posts)I've long been skeptical of the rumors regarding Warren as VP. Unless something terrible happens, it's entirely a ceremonial position, and Elizabeth Warren has so much more to offer as a progressive champion in the Senate.
That said, Trump-Pence is so anti-woman, it's breathtaking. It won't be hard for Clinton to make that point over and over again between now and November, and having Warren on the ticket would make the contrast undeniable.
