Trump will step aside during his term, paving the way for President Pence.

That is their plan, make no mistake about it.

they'd grab the chance to impeach a president who wouldn't cooperate in favor of one who equates social morality with laissez-faire economics.

As pandr32 says, though, they'll never have the chance.

Btw, Trump has a PERSONALITY DISORDER. He does not think like normal people. He not only wouldn't sacrifice a sick cat for the Republican Party, but if they could offer him the money he's always seeking to step aside he could never be depended on to give up the top spot to come through. Everything is always about HIM.

stay in the presidency for four years. NO. WAY.

His type has to be constantly moving, dealing, scheming, and not in the way the leader of a country does.

He would quit before two years was up. Guaranteed.

In essence, the GOP would have Ted Cruz in the Oval Office.

to get power and turn it over. Trump's incapable of caring about anything but himself, his family who are extensions of themselves, and money and power that prove his greatness to the world.

Not the party, not ideology, nothing. That's why he's so astonishingly ignorant. If he never saw it as somehow showing him off in all his glory it literally didn't matter.

that's all that matters to him.

He could never sit through a four year term, that's just not his style.

They would not do it.
Donald Trump can hold a pen and will appoint Justices they like.
A Republican Congress and Senate will run the show. Pence will be more powerful th a n Cheny.

on a dysfunctionally thin-skinned narcissist with an emotional age arrested some time in childhood and the flightiness of an incredibly shallow and amoral mind. Such as when they accuse him of being lead around by the nose by some person or group. And they would, constantly.

This is a man who reportedly tried to get out of naming Pence as his VP right after he made the decision (AFTER Pence had flown to NY to accept), in part because the word was leaked and he was peeved about having his big moment spoiled. But also because he'd just been talked into Pence and then changed his mind.

If they get the power, they will not let Trump's narcissism get in the way.

I think the biggest things Republicans hate about Trump is they think the will lose.

Agnosticsherbet, it would be totally impossible for them "to get the power" and not let the president get in their way.

"They" couldn't enter the White House grounds or do anything else without first obtaining his authorization, which could be revoked any time he changed his mind, which would be the moment he got the idea people thought he was being manipulated, not in charge of everything. And it's hardly as if no one would be watching.

22. Separation of powers gave Congress the power

To legislate, to raise money, and gave Congress the power of advise and consent over appointees and treaties.

Real power comes from legislation. Want tax breaks for the wealthy or national healthcare? The President asks, but only Congress can make it happen.

The President is the head of the executive branch. He does not control Congress.

Trump can hold a pen and sign whatever legislation they send him.

Their fear is that not only will he lose the edecutive, but he will screw away their control of the legislative branch, which ends their domination of the Judicial branch.

Congress sets the legislative agenda, and that is the real power in this country.

No, they will not impeach him. He guarantees their continued control.

On the other hand, I think it is more likely that the Koch brothers will give him a "financial incentive" to resign.

All of this will be untraceable, of course.

He won't be President. Hillary Clinton will, and she'll help elect a majority in the Senate, to boot. You can't impeach the loser in a presidential election.

Simple.
