The "OMG, the world is ENDING!!! Hillary must change HER ENTIRE STRATEGY IMMEDIATELY" nonsense is what most object to, not the posting of polls. That and the selective posting of negative polls, while ignoring positive ones.

That being said, too much importance is placed on the daily fluctuations in polling data, especially pre-convention. There is little or nothing to be learned by freaking out about every poll released this early in the election cycle.

Nothing to discuss without one.

Seriously though, the polls are pretty darn favorable to Hillary overall, not sure why people are freaking out.

This is why I thought the long primary was damaging...there is a threshold of GOP voters who will vote for GOP types no mattet what...it is about 40 % in my opinion.

Posts titled "time to panic?" (Literally, that was an actual post title today over a few bad state polls!) are bizarre.

She's ahead by several points in most national polls and all aggregates. But she might fall behind. Polls are volatile and it's only July. There is nothing to be gained by panicking and running around like the sky is falling if there are a few bad polls. Not to mention it's very unclear what "panicking" entails, it's not like it helps change the polls!

I mean, most of us have been through a few elections right? Don't panic, get back to work!

Are really about dislike of Hillary more than concern...the underlying sentiment is ...we told you so. Also, the constant posting of every bit of bad news is demoralizing. We need to stay positive. The Quinnipiac poll which showed good numbers for Trump iis an example...there were several positive polls that came out at the same time, but these were ignored. Why? And Quinnipiac is known to be unreliable.

The question is, what is the threshold for considering positive?

I asked that question back in 2012 regarding Obama's poll numbers. If you posted a poll that had Obama up by 5% or more, everyone was happy. If you posted one where he was up by only 3%, people would crap on you and call you a troll. So I asked the question -- exactly what is the threshold for DU acceptability?

Many DUers like to live in a bubble-verse fairy tale world where they only want to see the top third most positive polls. That's just the way it is.

We are in a great starting point. It's also nice for us to see those "concerned" as we move to beat Trump.

I would rather ban ops dripping with hyperbole and directed at making the discussion about duers comments.

The cherry picking of any poll that looks bad for Hillary while ignoring the good ones and then the 'concern' is not helpful. It is true that this far out polls are pretty much meaningless.
