Chris Christie "livid" that he wasn't picked as Trump VP

I so hope this is true.

While Gingrich seems to have been a good sport about Trump’s ultimate decision to go with Pence, according to the Weekly Standard, Christie was “livid.”

While minding my own business at the Starbucks inside the Westin hotel this morning, I saw a man engage Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort in conversation about the VP selection process. The man, whom I couldn't identify, suggested that Pence was a smart pick and Gingrich would've been a disaster.
"Christie was livid, right?" the man said at one point. "Yeah," Manafort replied.
In an interview with MSNBC on Thursday, Christie did say he would be upset if he didn’t end up getting picked.

"I mean, obviously, I'm a competitive person. So I'm not going to say it won't bother me, if I'm not selected. Of course it bothers you a little bit. 'Cause if you're a competitive person, like I am, and you're used to winning, like I am — again, you don't like coming in second, ever," the governor told Nicolle Wallace.

He's sold his soul to Don the Con, and he got conned. Christie is so much like Trump that he wasn't expecting to get conned. He thought Don the Con only conned other people.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Christie is the reason that Don the Con was trying to renege on Pence as late as midnight before the announcement. Christie may have still be promoting himself.

This was his route to the Presidency. Then, with incumbency, he could easily win a second term, is Christie's thinking.

The whole thing is delusional, but that's the calculus. He essentially ruined his reputation (such that it was) groveling to Trump and becoming a national laughingstock as Trump's sycophantic minion. All for the Presidency. And now he doesn't even get that. Of course he's livid. What would be interesting is whether he goes anti-Trump behind it. Trump has probably promised him Attorney General to stay in the camp, but that's a real job, and Christie doesn't want it.

now that David Samson, his political BFF and former Port Authority appointee, has plead guilty in an abuse of power case. Christie allowed Samson to run the PA while also running a law firm whose clients did business with the PA -- he can be impeached for that alone. And he's not out from under BridgeGate either.

I hope you folks are familiar with the DU Christie Crime Digest:

if he were to be elected president.
Perhaps Christie, and even Pence, believe there's a strong likelihood that would happen.

That could certainly account for major disappointment for Christie, who could have seen himself rising to be TopDog at a future point.

May we never see the day that Trump is elected President of the US.

The minute Trump cast him as a dogsbody, that's all he was gonna be.

The contest was over for him when he was filmed standing behind Trump, with furtive darting eyes.

And when his wife ROLLED HER EYES at a Tee Rump presser, it was all over save the tears.

Obama pre-empted doubts about his age, race, and lack of foreign policy chops by picking the older and wiser former Foreign Relations committee chairman Joe Biden. John Kerry picked John Edwards to help attract the young, the female, and non-Northeastern voters. So why would even someone as tone deaf as Duh Donald(TM) pick a personal and political clone of himself?

I think the real reason why Christie might be livid is not only because Gingrich was the runner up, but now he realizes that he has no place in the Trump administration whatsoever -- if he was slated become a cabinet member or attorney general, he wouldn't have been on the VP list in the first place!

This is where Chris begins to BURN, and I will enjoy hearing him squeal like the pig that he is.

36. Christie prosecuted the government's case against Kushner's father, Charles Kushner
Mon Jul 18, 2016, 06:57 PM
Jul 2016

In 2004, Christie as U.S. attorney for New Jersey prosecuted the government's case against Kushner's father, Charles Kushner, the real estate executive, philanthropist and political donor. The elder Kushner pleaded guilty in federal court to 18 felonies, including making illegal campaign contributions and evading taxes.

Christie, who endorsed Trump shortly after ending his own presidential campaigns, is heading the mogul's transition team. Kushner, who married Trump's eldest daughter Ivanka in 2009, is a close adviser to his father-in-law.
