Hillary camp response to Dr. Ben Carson...& other RNC speakers.

Hillary Clinton ?@HillaryClinton 27m27 minutes ago

Last night's #RNCinCLE theme: "Make America Work* Again"

*Instructions not included

“Make America Work Again” was last night’s RNC theme. We heard zero real ideas to create jobs.

But they DID have a former soap star making the case for a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Night two of the Republican National Convention was officially named “Make America Work Again” night.

But despite the fact that the speaking line-up included some of the most prominent Republicans in office today (well, at least the ones willing to attend Trump’s convention), the RNC speaker who had the most to say about job creation was former soap opera actress—turned avocado farmer—Kimberlin Brown.

Here’s what she said:

It sounds to us like she’s making the case for a Hillary Clinton presidency (and if you don’t believe us, check out the footnotes). Kimberlin, if you’re reading: You can join the official Clinton campaign right here.

It's not brain surgery: Republicans tend to be a bit more truth-y when the presidency isn't on the line. #RNCinCLE

If Donald Trump wants to make America great again, he should start by actually making things in America.

Hillary Clinton Retweeted Paul Ryan

Not according to your anti-woman, anti-LGBT, anti-immigrant @GOP platform. #RNCinCLE

Hillary Clinton added,

The above tweet is in response to Raul Ryan:

Paul Ryan @PRyan
In America, everyone has a place. No one is written off. Straight from the Declaration of Independence, that is the Republican ideal.

The Republican Party platform is so hateful, you'd think Donald Trump wrote it himself.

The Briefing ?@TheBriefing2016 18h18 hours ago

But @SpeakerRyan still endorses Donald Trump for president anyway. #RNCinCLE

5 disturbing things Republicans just voted into their party platform

This is officially the party of Trump.

The Republican National Convention is underway in Cleveland—and the party just approved a platform so backward and divisive, you’d think it was written by Donald Trump himself.

Here are five disturbing things the GOP officially stands for (yes, in 2016):
1. Restricting women’s rights and health care

Trump has said that he thinks women should receive “some form of punishment” for seeking an abortion, so perhaps it’s no surprise that his party is taking aim at women’s health care and rights.

The Republican Party isn’t just against abortion—it’s also calling for Supreme Court justices who will undermine women’s constitutional rights.

Only such appointments will enable courts to begin to reverse the long line of activist decisions—including Roe ...

They didn’t stop there. The GOP platform also calls for defunding Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides millions of Americans with critical health services like cancer screenings, well-woman exams, and, yes, safe and legal abortion.
2. Allowing parents to force so-called “conversion therapy” on their LGBT children

The Republican platform doesn’t specifically mention so-called “conversion therapy”—the dangerous and unnecessary practice of trying to “change” a person’s identity or sexual orientation—but it effectively condones it for LGBT youth:

We support the right of parents to determine the proper medical treatment and therapy for their minor children.

3. Building Trump’s wall

Trump’s signature policy—building a big concrete wall between Mexico and the United States—is cynical and divisive (and won’t fix our broken immigration system.) But that hasn’t stopped the Republican Party from endorsing it officially:

The border wall must cover the entirety of the southern border and must be sufficient to stop both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Trump’s dehumanizing rhetoric also found its way into Republican lexicon: The GOP platform refers to undocumented immigrants as “illegal aliens.”
4. Denying marriage rights for LGBT couples

A year after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality—and despite the fact that the majority of Americans support it—the Republican Party continues to oppose marriage rights for LGBT couples.

In Obergefell, five unelected lawyers robbed 320 million Americans of their legitimate constitutional authority to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

5. Attacking “non-traditional” families

And Republicans didn’t stop at condemning marriage equality. They also went after LGBT families, claiming that children are better off raised in “traditional” households.

Traditional marriage and family, based on marriage between one man and one woman, is the foundation for a free society and has for millennia been entrusted with rearing children and instilling cultural values.

Other notable positions include barring women soldiers from serving in certain military roles, deeming coal “clean” energy, and teaching the Bible in public schools.

The Republican Party platform is alarming—and telling. And it shows exactly what a Trump presidency would look like.
We’re better than this.

My browser at work censors some stuff so I don't see anything other than she should join the Clinton camp.
