Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Hillary Clinton.
Let me preface my remarks by saying I don't put her in the category of those giants but her task is just as great. George Washington had to win our freedom from the British and lead a nascent nation. Abraham Lincoln's task was to end slavery and preserve the union. Franklin Roosevelt's task was to end the Great Depression and defeat fascism. Hillary Rodham Clinton's task is to prevent fascism from gaining a foothold on our shores. What am awesome responsibility. I shudder to think what it must be like.
This is not an ordinary election and Donald Trump is not an ordinary foe. He represents our darkest angels, our most ignoble impulses, and the unvarnished hatred of the other. It is moral imperative that he be defeated.
Godspeed, Secretary Clinton, everybody of good will is behind you.
