2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHave I been catapulted back in time to the land of McCarthyism?
I am in no way defending the GOP or Drumpf. What I am doing is asking everyone to use discretion when repeating the story that Wikileaks/Assange are controlled by the Russians, who in turn are working with Drumpf. Do you realize how much power we're giving Drumpf, and the GOP, by promoting such a story?
It's precarious ground to tread, but I understand why Democrats are doing it - to move past the hack and the black eye, so we can have a positive, cohesive convention and win the election.
What I'm seeing and hearing is disturbing, coming from Democrats (this is something we've seen the other side do, many times).
If there's solid evidence of collusion and I've missed it please post it in this thread, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

First it's hacked - then emails released just before Democratic National Convention.
Russian government hackers penetrated DNC, stole opposition research on Trump
The intruders so thoroughly compromised the DNCs system that they also were able to read all email and chat traffic, said DNC officials and the security experts.
The purpose of such intelligence gathering is to understand the targets proclivities, said Robert Deitz, former senior councillor to the CIA director and a former general counsel at the National Security Agency. Trumps foreign investments, for example, would be relevant to understanding how he would deal with countries where he has those investments should he be elected, Deitz said. They may provide tips for understanding his style of negotiating. In short, this sort of intelligence could be used by Russia, for example, to indicate where it can get away with foreign adventurism.
