ANYONE who says he/she would vote for Trump to stop Hillary is nothing but a fucking NUT.
No reality anywhere near his/her brain. NOT progressive. NOT a Democrat. And NOT sane!

39. Oh, they exist. Hostility is the primary driving force
for many millions. Pretty sure there're plenty in there who hate Hillary enough to do almost anything they could get away with. And the ones who come to a Democrats' forum to trumpet insults should be believed.
If only they were insane. We could disenfranchise them all. Btw, Pew just reported that 90% of those who consistently supported Bernie now support Hillary. I didn't check Pew's definition, but this presumably knocks out a bunch of the hostiles, both conservatives from in and mostly outside the party, who voted for Bernie out of spite against the party and/or her but will vote Trump or not at all in the GE. |

And DU is too small for the average republican to know about. Military contractors, NGOs and corporations who spout republican ideals do though.

41. The Democratic Party still has sizable
conservative blocs. We have conservative Democrats on DU, some white some other. The big sifting out of right and left by party is mostly complete but not entirely among whites and hasn't really begun among minorities who don't have a conservative party to join.
That last is huge, btw, but seldom considered. Minority races, dethnicities and religions have just as many conservatives -- and sometimes more -- than the white population does. But the Republican Party is inimical to their interests, so some join the Democratic Party as their only practical choice because some liberalism works for them even as most probably makes them want to tear their hair. |

42. And what about the - was it 3 or 4 - Sanders delegates MSNBC found last night?
"I'm going to vote for Jill Stein."
"Hillary needs to convince me." "Why did we have to wait all night listening to this Clinton love-fest? Why did they have to leave Bernie to be the last speaker?" These people exist. And these people are fools & assholes. If they're not going to support the Democratic nominee for President, they have no business being delegates to the Democratic National Convention. |

3. Sadly, we have people in our country ready to surrender to fascism
Our culture has become increasingly anti-intellectual and a lot of people have been conditioned to blame others (immigrants, brown people, and in some cases, big business/capitalism) for their own problems.

10. I know these types. They are fed up with trying to get through the thick skulls of Americans...
We have a population mindlessly sitting in their cars listening to right wing propaganda even on shows that don't promote themselves as right wing. These are people who say they vote Republican because they believe in working for a living.
The hope is that these sheeple will wake up and realize things are worse for them under Republicans. It hasn't worked so far because all of the propaganda makes it sound like the world is coming to an end when Democrats win and it's all joyous blue skies and caviar dreams when Republicans win. |

14. I donated to the other guy, supported the other guy, and voted for the other guy in primary...
But there is no way in hell I would EVER vote for Trump in ANY election, for ANY position down to and including dog catcher.
I am as disappointed as anyone that Bernie Sanders was treated unfairly and lost the primary, but that happened and is not changing no matter how many garments are rended, how many teeth are gnashed or how long the cries of "foul!" and "shame!" ring out. To allow the Talking Yam to be elected is anathema to anyone with an ounce of progressive politics in their blood. I have been guilty of saying (and sometimes really believing) that there is no difference between the parties, but this time around that is totally wrong. The Trumpster Fire is an existential threat to the Republic and a danger to the world. He cannot be allowed to win because too many people want to sit it out on general principle. There is too much at stake to allow a preventable, horrible outcome. GOTV!!! GOTV!!! GOTV!!! GOTV!!! GOTV!!! |

25. MSNBC's Jacob Soboroff interviewed one such protestor earlier today.
He asked her about whether she would vote for Trump over Hillary,
and she said "Yes, because I can understand and agree with a lot of what he says." Say what?!?!?? I noticed that this particular "Bernie supporter" being interviewed did not have any Bernie signs or slogans with her. She simply had a "Show us the transcripts" plain black-and-white sign. Therefore, I seriously doubt she is a real progressive liberal that truly supports Sanders because of progressive liberal policies, and may have been a GOP plant to foment discontent. No way would any true Bernie Sanders supporter that was in support of his progressive liberal ideals ever entertain any thought of voting for Trump. |

No different. If she actually thinks she's a progressive, and was truthful in saying she supports Bernie, she's really confused. You can't actually agree with Donald Trump and the things he says and be progressive.

I don't like Sec. Clinton, I don't trust her, and I'm still not over her public denouncements of marriage equality or her vote for the Iraq war.
But Drumph can NOT be allowed to pick Supreme Court seats. He CANNOT be allowed any control over our nuclear arsenal. I will not stand for him representing our country to the rest of the world. Sec. Clinton will get the nomination, and she will get my vote, and my partners vote, and my parents votes and all of my friends votes. |

I find it stupid and frightening that anyone, especially a "Democrat" or "Progressive", would prefer an actual lunatic in a position of power over them. They have turned a legitimate revolutionary effort into an insane cult, the results of which, if successful, could mean the end of our civilization.

34. As ugly as this all is
and as much of a cluster fuck as the DNC has become, none of this has transformed Donald Trump from an ignorant, bigoted, narcissistic psychopath into a reasonable alternative to Hillary Clinton. Not even remotely. Nor has it suddenly made Jill Stein qualified to hold the office of president (or even slightly more qualified than she was two weeks ago).
Supposed progressives whose only plan for the country is to break it into pieces and then cross their fingers that those pieces will somehow magically re-assemble themselves into something better are just batshit crazy. Every four years, they pop up to vote for a personality, but after Election Day, when the hard, unglamorous work of party building starts, they are nowhere to be found. Which is why their "revolutions" never go anywhere positive, and won't this time, either. |

43. I can agree with that
Even though I've been a huge Bernie supporter.
In a democracy, there has to he compromise. A lot of people don't get to have their first choice. That's just what happens when hundreds of millions of people have to come to a consensus. Any Bernie supporter who thinks Trump is a better choice than Hillary is seriously confused. |
