2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSanders' speech was basically the polar opposite of Cruz's.
If you remember, for the first 95% of Cruz's speech, he was hitting on all the usual Republican talking points and had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand. Then he dropped a bomb and refused to endorse Trump.
On the other hand, Bernie started out by more or less laying out his own path, thinking maybe he'd go rogue. But then he brought it all together and behind Hillary in the end, no doubt about it.
Are we all sufficiently unified at this point? I certainly hope so. There shouldn't be an issue anymore. Looking forward to the next three days.

This is perhaps the 20th time over the past year that the sky was falling, and it never did.

(53,956 posts)I am still a proud Sanders' supporter. Like him, I understand the gravity of this election and it is too damn important to stay at home or not vote for the candidate primed to beat Trump.
He did a great job and that is saying quite a bit, because how does one follow a speech like the one our First Lady gave?! That was inspiring, but I expect nothing less from Mrs. Michelle Obama. Class. Integrity. Intelligence. She is incredible and I, for one, will miss her as our FLOTUS!

(3,284 posts)Talk/argue/negotiate on policy AFTER.
Then, when Hillary is Prez-Elect, we can start to hash the issues out.
As a Bernie-ite, that is my view.
I know many Bernie-ites feel similarly.
I just hope it spreads to all the others.

(58,724 posts)They went crazy for him during the "maybe he'll go rogue" part and got very tepid when he talked positively about Hillary (with some booing).
