Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said some very nasty things about Sen. Cory Booker on Twitter Monday night, but the New Jersey Democrat isnt returning fire at the moment.
Appearing on CNN Tuesday morning, the senator was asked to respond to Donald Trumps assertion that if Booker is the Democratic Partys future, then it has no future. But instead of slamming Trump, Booker decided to respond by killing him with kindness.
I love Donald Trump Im going to say that, Booker said. I dont want to answer hate with hate Im going to answer it with love. Im not going to answer his darkness with darkness. I know his kids and his family
are good people.
Not content with this not-so-subtle trolling, Booker then started really laying it on thick. I love you, Donald I pray for you, he said. I hope that you find some kindness in your heart, that youre not going to be somebody who spews out insults to your political opposition, that youre going to start finding some ways to love
Im going to keep loving on him. Im going to tell the truth about him, but Im going to keep loving on him, praying for the best for him and his family.

(4,762 posts)I'm impressed as hell by Cory Booker in general, and think he's presidential timber. But this is how you get the bully, exactly.
Taunt him with a refusal to stoop to his level. Make him an object of pity and patronizing affection. Rally others to this perspective by not hitting the red rage button that creates mob mentality.
Pres. Obama has mastered this jujitsu move. Booker is right on it. When they go low, we go high. Michelle nailed it.
