CNN: How Obama made some anti-Trump Republicans jealous

A delicious collection of tweets by conservatives disillusioned with Trump and jealous that we have such an awesome advocate on our side.

This is my favorite one:

EWErickson
Erick Erickson
@EWErickson
I started the evening saying for the first time I thought Trump could win. Then Obama spoke. I’m so angry at my own party right now.

At home wishing so badly they have just 1 ounce of what we have. I feel for them (not really). They are lost in their own hate, anger, and greed. They reap what they sow.

That was the best line. The Republican President is petitioning Putin for a hand. Hillary is hugging it out with President Obama.

You should have noticed your chances starting to drop Monday. When Booker gave a speech brimming with optimism and shared struggle patriotism, you should've noticed that the Democratic Party wants voters to be excited, not suicidal. After Michelle, I'm surprised you weren't openly weeping about the state of your party. Elizabeth Warren once again showed she has forgotten more about the economy than Trump has ever known and you should have been questioning everything you thought you knew. After Bill, you should have dropped your party affiliation. After Joe, you should have re-registered as a Dem. After POTUS you should have become a Democratic Party volunteer.

For all its faults, the bottom line is really quite simple: The Democratic Party is just a hell of a lot better than the Republican Party.

How on earth could a supposed Christian conservative not know that love was stronger than hate?

Take about five paragraphs out of that Obama speech and it could have been a Reagan speech. Trust me. I know.

Those five paragraphs probably describe how we should do things to help the public live better lives. So basically Reagan and Obama are equally patriotic & optimistic, but only Obama believes we should do something to keep it that way.

The nominated Dick Nixon at their conventions five times: twice for vice president, and three times for president. They nominated Bush the Lesser twice. Now they have nominated a fucking joke candidate who was trolling them, who now openly loves the dictator Putin, craps on American servicemen, and has the gall to call Hillary Clinton crooked and demands an end to NATO, apparently as a favor to his dictator man-crush.

Why hasn't every prominent Republican in the country denounced this man? Is Lindsay Graham the only elected Republicans who loves his country more than this reality wrestling star moron who has taken over their party? He's a sick joke who used their sick Fox formula to troll their base and accidentally won their nomination. He's the con man behind Trump University.

Trump isn't fit to be on a planning commission, much less to be in charge of the Department of Justice, Department of State, Department of Defense and the Treasury.

The elite of the republican party should understand that the enemy of decency has taken over their ship and they should abandon ship. When even George W. Bush refuses to acknowledge the existence of this epic shit disturber, what are they going to do to help your country? Stay silent?

Ted Cruz is going to stay silent and mealy mouthedly say "vote your conscience" when a man who insulted his wife and father is one of the two practical choices for President. A man of conservative principle my ass.
