Jose DelReal is one of a small team of people who covers Donald Trump's presidential campaign for The Washington Post. On Wednesday, he was in Milwaukee to cover an appearance by Trump running mate Mike Pence. DelReal was barred from covering the event as a reporter, in keeping with Trump's long-standing ban on The Washington Post. DelReal then tried to enter the event as a citizen. He was told no one could enter with a phone and a computer. He put them in the car and again tried to enter. He was refused — again — and patted down. “I don’t want you here. You have to go,” the security official told him.

That should scare the hell out of you.

I've said it before and I'll keep on saying it. With tRump as President you can say good-bye to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press. The only 'news' we will get will be about our 'Beloved Leader' because if you dare to criticize tRump you will end up being 'disappeared'.

First they came for the reporters, but I wasn't worried because I wasn't a reporter....

it is interesting to think how Donald would handle the press. He'd try to bully and dominate and restrict access. Would they turn on him?

And suddenly certain TV and radio outlets would find that their broadcast licences were not getting renewed.

I can see why the idea is scary, but to me the story is emblematic of a small tent and a losing ticket. We shouldn't envy them their lock-step, because it's not going to win new voters.

7. He is a classic tyrant

who wants to control the press and plaster his name and picture all over everything. He is not even original, as it has been done thousands of times throughout history. Same megalomania, same narcissism, same control, and same hyper paranoia.

Silvio Berlusconi held on to power for a time partly because of his control of the media.
