He's not a supporter but wanted to see what it was like. I asked how the Donald was, if he was still raging about all the mean lies said about him at the Dem convention. He said it was a lot of incoherent rambling, no real segue from one topic to the next. Said it reminded him a lot of Palin.

I imagine it was much like that gibberish in the transcript.

This will be the most publicly humiliating downfall in recent history. Surely the campaign staff realizes this by now. Surely even the Trump offspring realize this by now.

I bet that less than 6 months after Clinton is sworn in, we'll hear how Donald was rushed to the hospital and is undergoing a long convalescence from which he may never recover.

And I wonder at what point he'll just say "screw it" and leave it all to Pence. That worries me because the rnc might actually rally around Pence.

I don't see how trump can keep going at this pace without becoming completely unhinged. Sarah Palin was losing it at one point.

I've said here many times how I wont diagnose en absentia but this is a pretty hard thing not to see. Mind you, someone who speaks this way doesn't necessarily do it all the time. But stress, mania, confusion, etc. can cause people to lapse into it. So I'm not claiming any particular reason for it but none of the possibilities is good in a presidential candidate, in my opinion.

CNN finally shuts down Donald Trump after he brags about hiring illiterate contractors
By Daily News Bin | July 29, 2016 | 0
donald-trump-garbage-wall

If Donald Trump’s first speech today after the conclusion of the two national conventions was a good indicator of where he intends to take his general election campaign for the rest of the summer, that direction is just as confusing as when the day began. Trump held an event in Colorado in which he more or less rambled about random topics with little coherency or sentence structure. At one point, after he began bragging about how he hires illiterate contractors, CNN finally felt compelled to pull the plug.

After just having the umpteenth back and forth with a "buddy" of mine about the constant word salad that is Donald Trump, it just dawned on me what the issue is with his backers. Trump's words - to his Followers - are like the Higher Power in AA. They mean whatever you want them to mean. He is abstract. His speeches are an empty canvas and whatever he says, you or the guy next to you can interpret that to mean whatever it means to you personally. Substance, or lack thereof, be damned. He is so all over the place, people have convinced themselves he is talking to them, but they are actually just talking to themselves.

to his Denver speech. It is worse than the exerpts in the OP.

http://kdvr.com/2016/07/27/donald-trump-to-make-stops-in-denver-colorado-springs-friday/

But here is how the media covered it.

http://www.denverpost.com/2016/07/29/trump-colorado-springs-denver/

A day after the Democrats finished their convention, Republican Donald Trump declared during a trip to Colorado Friday he is “taking the gloves off” and will visit the state so often before election day that his supporters will tire of him.

Trump began a verbal take-down of Hillary Clinton in the afternoon in Colorado Springs and continued at an evening rally at Wings Over the Rockies museum in Denver.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/2016/07/30/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-loose-cannon-bad-judgement/87770388/

“We have created a movement,” Trump said to the roaring crowd inside a hangar at the Wings over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. “I mean, look at this.”

Speaking without a teleprompter, Trump addressed the rowdy crowd for about 40 minutes in a speech that ranged from national security, respect for police officers and torture, to the use of economic sanctions to force American companies to keep jobs here. His speech was long on generalities and short on specifics. He promised better care for veterans and more support for police and the military, adding that his family has more star power than the speakers at the Democratic National Convention.

He was right the media is dishonest. They are portraying him as sane, reasonable and intelligent. In essence they are putting lipstick on a pig.
