I am feeling concerned for the Khans

If the past is prologue, then these wonderful people are going to be submitted to RW terrorism for the rest of their lives for what they said at the DNC. Their courage and the truth they spoke has marked them for years of attacks from the RW knuckle draggers.

I wish it were otherwise, but we all know what they're up against.

... but now they have to survive their son by taking down the very public persona that's against them the most.

Benedict Donald could've left them alone, he's started something he can't finish with them I pray

Repugs will bend over backward and twist into pretzels to make their lives miserable. Rush et al. will call them every vile name and throw every dirty stunt in their (very thick) playbook to demonize them. For the service and sacrifice they have made for us, it is incumbent on us to do all we can to protect and defend them.

Yes Mr. Trump has made many sacrifices including being a great person; a great father; a great American; and now a Great POTUS...something this ‘towel head’ would never understand or even try with his life...

Trump was right: “I would like to talk to the wife, but she isn’t ‘allowed’ to speak, she would get beheaded if she did”....

That says a lot doesn’t it about the Muslims and ‘towel heads’ that are trying to take over OUR COUNTRY, and Barky and Hillary are all to happy to make sure that happens...

Good for Trump. Who is this foreign A-wipe to tell anyone else what they have or haven’t done in life. He’s a fool trying to use his dead son to islamicize America.
F him....

9. it's honestly hard to remember that the people who write this stuff are human beings

Their existence terrifies me, and makes me sad. Not just for the rest of us but for them as well. What a waste, to squander a human existence on nothing but hatred. It's a choice they've made, so I don't really feel sorry for them, but still, it's sad.

I pray they are not subjected to hate and disruption in their lives. They've made the ultimate sacrifice, they should only have peace now. I weep for them.

There are some indications that something is badly broken over at Fox News. I don't think the talking points are being issued, and driven home, with the usual level of force. I don't know, and I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but something is off.

That's not to say that there are not still crazy nutbags out there, but I am feeling so optimistic about this fall's elections.

And, I kind of also have a feeling that Mr. Khan is a lot like his son, and would proudly take those ten steps forward (into the turmoil of a presidential campaign), that he spoke so eloquently of his son taking, if that was what was required to keep Donald Trump from ever becoming president. Heroes are sometimes raised by heroes. Mr. and Mrs. Khan are very, very brave.

... and they were praising him and his son as a hero and someone every American no matter the party should be proud of. I about lost m fast food (it was at a fast food place, I can't even turn them on at home). Who knows if they'll do it twice, but it is a shift.
