The former Republican Governor of Illinois,

Jim Edgar just announced he will not vote for Trump for President. He is the only Republican I ever voted for and is the only decent governor our poor state has had in recent memory.

Says Edgar "I just don't think he has the temperament. I don't think he has the experience." He did not like the Trump comments about Mexicans and after his comments about John McCain, "I couldn't believe he was still a viable candidate. He is divisive. His comments on NATO ...I just think demonstrate he has no grasp of foreign policy. Whether you agree with the person or not, you want somebody who you think is prepared to do the job. I just don't think he is."

He is a very influential person among Republicans in Illinois. This is a good, good thing.

although he seemed to be one of the healthiest active gov we have had . He was not perfect
but he was followed by Ryan (r) who was a real criminal and secondhand cause of motor deaths in IL IMO
Until Pat Quinn (d) came along recently, he was the last of governors who did NOT face criminal charges !!!
