More Meltdown over at Freepers'...

Quotes from this evening from the right-wing webiste, Free Republic:

_____________________________________________________________________________

America, the one I loved, left me last night.

I fought hard to keep her and tried to warn her of deceitful and abusive men, but in the end, she abandoned not only me, but her sacred virtues, and fell into the arms of sweet-talking swindlers, who promised her the world and tons of free stuff.

Today I'm hurt, I’m exhausted, I'm subdued, I’m extremely disappointed, but surprisingly, I'm not bitter.

America has made her choice, and as much as I loved and wanted to protect her, I know I cannot change what has happened. She must deal with the consequences of her decision, however awful they may be.

I am left to cope with a tremendous loss. I could try to win her back, or find someone new, but I know that I probably won’t be able to forget her or how beautiful she once was.

When her new suitors have had their way with her and left her by the wayside exploited and penniless, I hope someone will be there to pick up the pieces and build her back into the noble country that God intended her to be. If that person is you, please tell how much I love her.

_____________________________________________________________________________

I’m looking forward to the economy crashing and burning under Obama’s reign of terror, to prove to the fools who voted for him how wrong, and stupid, they were. I’ll be smiling if this happens. Just being honest.

_____________________________________________________________________________

My heart is broken. I can’t stop crying thinking of what will happen to my country now.

The belief in self-reliance requires a certain morality rigidity
which is probably unfamiliar to many DU'ers.

My percentage bet is that Republicans do a major faceplant in 2014 & 2016,
and don't really recover for the rest of my life, if they even survive as a party.

Just FYI, that's insulting. It's almost like you're implying that many DU'ers don't have any morals. Wanting to take care of those that can't take care of themselves is really good morals... at least according to that Jesus guy.

there are some really fucked up, insane, and ignorant, people out there.

There was a very nice FB update from a California travel site. They had a quick interview with Katy Perry, about growing up in Santa Barbara. It was just a nice fluff piece.

OMG.. the comments on it, were nuts!! Like so divorced from reality, calling her names, calling California names, etc. Saying that they'll NEVER go to Santa Barbara now because of Katy Perry supporting the pResident. Then one woman who was particularly vile was a fan of a page called "TRIGGER the Vote" (yes, with a rifle scope as the logo) It's a Chuck Norris special, to push some weird connection between this election and guns. And the posts there.. OMG. Some woman left a looong prayer about the "evil" of the UN and how god needs to save them from liberals and the UN, and many people calling for the destruction of America because Obama is in office again. I mean, like Glenn Beck, they WANT America to be destroyed by outside forces... to "rid us of evil."

Seriously That is the same shit Beck has been saying for the past 24 hours, and these unstable people are thinking it's real. They're wishing for America to be destroyed, because they believe that evil has taken over when the nice Christian family man was re-elected.

Folks, they are getting crazier and more dangerous. And they are a vocal minority BUT they have the voice of Fox and Beck and Limbaugh, to taint the waters of democracy. They are truly deranged.

"I probably won’t be able to forget her or how beautiful she once was." Translated from freeper-talk, this means that America of 1953 with women and minorities "in their place" and white males free to tramp on the rights of others is the America they miss and thought the Republicans and Romney/Ryan could take them back to. Well, buggers, this is 2012, we're worlds away from 1953 so get over it. Minorities, women, workers have exercised their rights to vote and they voted YOU OUT!!!

seriously... they get all their news from right-wing sources, never once considering the news they comment on over at HuffPo--it's just wrong because some blog said it was. Or they heard on Fox Noise that they were going to win in a landslide and because they didn't, they don't question whether Fox Noise was wrong and why, they proclaim "America has been stolen" or the election has been stolen--they then wish the worst on her like a child who hasn't been taught to play well with others (or to share).

They'll never understand that Fox Noise is the reason they can't deal with reality right now. Hell, they had themselves so convinced at Fox that even the anchors were stunned when all facts were pointing to the contrary. It's quite sad to see what Fox and its ilk has done to the other 48% of this nation.

If you ask me, it's the people who are stuck in the 50's, expecting the best paying jobs for no other reason than there are white and male that are feeling "entitled". The multimillion dollar corporations that expect tax cuts and subsidies think they're "entitled" to them and they scream it's UNFAIR if you take them away, even when they're enjoying record profits. The super rich feel entitled to lower tax rates because someone started calling them "job creators", except they get lower tax rates whether they create jobs or not.

It seems to me we should call Social Security and Medicare what they are - EARNED BENEFITS. I've known people from all walks of life and 9 times out of 10, the ones who felt entitled were the ones who had the most, not the ones who were struggling.

Oh, right. Remember who we're dealing with here. Who said anything about being rational?
