Interesting article by William Greider
"America appears to be the United States of Hypocrisy. The so-called American exceptionalism celebrated by warrior scholars and chicken-hawk politicians is exceptionally bogus. It feeds the popular pretension of injured innocence that many people want to feel when hostile foreigners do terrible things to our sidewhether to our people at home or our troops abroad."

(32,886 posts)being advanced by the Nation is, if your country has ever done something wrong, its 100% OK for everyone else to do it to you forever.
That's the more crazy argument.

(68,586 posts)elections...Trump would not doubt give Eastern Europe back to the Russians and destroy NATO. I find the Russian interference unacceptable...and the 'they all do it' defense (propaganda) doesn't work for me. Why is the Nation defending Russian influence on our elections?

It could be a coincidence, I suppose.

(68,586 posts)I have not had time to read them lately...I have a pile on my bookshelf...won't bother. I am so sick of this crap. We have a good chance this year for the presidency and Congress, and it seems we have to Wade through the Green's shit and some the wackos who claim they are left but think electing Republicans is a good idea? A pox on all of them!

(701 posts)Until you have evidence, no one knows for sure. And double standards are still double standards. I can love my country and still face the reality that it is not perfect. Shouldn't Democrats try to make it better instead of denying it?

(1,999 posts)I seriously couldn't keep reading after he compared Russian's actions to the NSA spying on Angela Merkel.
It would be shocking if any major power wasn't spying on all the other major powers of the world. But actively intervening in another nation's elections is something completely different from spying.
