Now that the election has come to an end I wanted to say a huge thank you to the Entire DU Community (yes even the trolls but only because you guys were entertaining)

First of all I stumbled upon this site due to pure luck - and boy am I glad I clicked on that link.

Thank you for providing top notch info not only about the Presidential race but also other races being run across the country by liberals- races that the national media didn't even care to acknowledge or cover.

Thank you to all the people whose posts calmed me down when I was having a freakout worrying about Pres. Obama's chances after the first debate or pondering all the ways the Ohio machines would steal the election for the republicans. I would literally even stop my University library during breaks between classes hoping to see a nugget of info that would brighten my day!

Thank you to all the posters who posted cartoons and memes that made me lmao

Thank you to those who inspired me to go and help out with our College Democrats club and register voters across the state of Florida!

Thank you to everyone for being there to listen to different ideas and being open to discuss the dynamics of this race!

This was my first election ever- as one of the younger users of this site this site gave me hope that as liberals we have a bright future in politics.

Finally this site helped me embrace my liberal views. You guys have become a second family of sorts for me. Every morning I come onto this site- I literally come onto the site before I even take a shower or eat breakfast. Regardless of whether I have an exam coming up or not I always make time during my day to come here (even if it means that I'm sacrificing time that I could use to check on my fantasy football team haha)

I look forward to spending the next few decades (and many more elections) enjoying myself among all of you fellow democrats!

I was a member from 2000-2004 and this site got me through the tough times. I am newly back to posting (and newly back to having the internet in home). But I have always checked this site for news. Thanks DU (even though I got booted off several times election night)
