While I'd applaud their admission that they well and truly screwed the pooch, (admitting you have a problem is a first step) they can't be trusted with the keys to the castle until they demonstrate some ability to actually govern before they are allowed to do so.

The question becomes does keeping Trump cost them v the House and Senate? YES! But will they have the guts to do it? NO!

a number of times since Cleveland, but he decided to stay an R and try to effect change from within.

It already happened.

Now, if they're serious. they'll meet, re-write some rules, toss fRump, and promote mcmullen.

But they aren't able to organize anything.

Mitt, mccain, this is the new normal. It's a circus sideshow. Viable candidates aren't getting votes in primaries. GOP voters are like nascar/ hockey fans, just waiting for the crash, the bloodletting. GOP voters don't want or deserve real leaders. The spoiled brats want professional wrestling: entertaining pretend leaders.
