NRA Launches $3 Million Anti-Clinton Ad Buy on Heels of Trump Call for 'Second Amendment' Violence

If the NRA wanted to reinforce Trump's call for gun violence against Clinton, they could not have chosen a better moment to do so.
Late Tuesday afternoon Donald Trump told supporters in North Carolina that Hillary Clinton wants to take away their guns and if she becomes president and is allowed to nominate justices to the Supreme Court their rights to have guns will be gone, and "there's nothing you can do folks."
"Although the Second Amendment people maybe there is, I don't know."
It's been interpreted by Democrats and Republicans alike as a thinly-veiled threat and as a dog whistle call to action, a suggestion to his less-stable supporters to stop Clinton through gun violence.
Almost immediately the NRA jumped to Trump's defense, posting to Twitter that Trump was "right."

Then, hours later, the NRA launched a $3 million ad buy calling Hillary Clinton a "hypocrite" who will "leave you defenseless."
"That is a fact," they added on Twitter where they posted the ad, which will air in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada and North Carolina.
The ad itself calls Hillary Clinton "one of the wealthiest women in politics" with a "combined income of $30 million."
"Tours the world on private jets. Protected by armed guards for 30 years. But she doesn't believe in your right to keep a gun at home for self defense," the ad falsely states. Clinton has repeatedly stated she does not want to abolish the Second Amendment.
The ad portrays Clinton as "out of touch" and at the end even offers a hashtag, #HypocriteHillary.
If they wanted to reinforce Trump's call for gun violence against Clinton, they could not have chosen a better moment to do so.
