Teleprompter President
Predictably today there is a wringing of hands about Trump getting "back on message" and "stop going off the rails" from Republican allies and others.
Lets suppose for a moment that Trump could actually do that... could learn to just read a speech that someone else wrote.
How would he function as President?
Would he even be President? Would he be allowed to make decisions on the fly in the situation room or would Pence or someone else actually be there to make the decision for Trump?
The irony here is that in 2008 this was the charge leveled by Republicans against then Senator Obama... the difference is that Obama not only gave a great speech, he could also make sane decisions and was rarely caught making controversial "off the cuff" remarks.
