Seriously, people need to get away from that "real American" stuff.

I feel bad how Native Americans were treated, of course. The "Trail of Tears" is just one horrible example.

Some of my own ancestors were "Indian killers" many years ago. Of course, that was during the Revolutionary War when most natives had aligned with the Brits. Then the natives aligned with the Brits again during the War of 1812. The general situation was messy, with disorganization and poor communication not helping matters. White people were scalped after making a deal for land from one tribe that another tribe didn't approve, and so on. A book by Allan Eckert titled "The Frontiersmen" is good reading to get the gist of the sad situation for various people back then.

I loved the easy-going attitudes of many Native Americans that I met in Arizona a few years. I wish more people had their temperaments.
