2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumA confused roomate
I've been living with the same roomate since my freshman year and its been 3 years now.
He is a ultra-conservative (with the typical having no clue about world events or anything in general.....he didn't even know that being a hindu is not the same as being a muslim smh) but we always got along fine and generally avoided politics. We became best friends of some sorts and loved watching sports together and playing x-box
Till election night everything was all normal- suddenly after Pres. Obama has won the election he has stopped talking to me.
Even if I ask him a question he doesn't respond- he's acting like a huge baby and its pissing me off.
I cannot believe that these guys were so dumb to actually think that their candidate would be able to win this election and that pres. obama losing was a sure bet.
It saddens me that these guys have so much anger about our president winning.
I'm thinking of not living with him anymore for upcoming semesters if this kind of childish behavior continues on from him.

(11,076 posts)I think a new roommate will be in order. If he gets pissy please remind him that Obama is a big man and believes that he is President for everyone in the United states. He does not pick and choose on politics. ....unlike some other folk!

Half of my floor cheered - the other half started slamming the doors and were steaming for a few days. Let him be and if he doesn't ease up by next Tuesday move out.
That's a former R.A. speaking btw.

(18,184 posts)he still has the same rights as he had before (and probably more than he, and everyone else, had during the Bush era).
But if Romney had won, then a lot of people (women, gay people, immigrants, people with preexisting conditions etc.) most likely would have some rights taken away.
