I'm going to say it ...

This election cycle was wonderful for the Nation and the Democratic party.

But listening to boehner's rejection of a Democratic Mandate exposes a/the tactical flaw of the DNC ... the faiure to communicate the need for Democrats to take the House. Boenher is saying the fact that the gop held the House is evidence that the American people do not want taxes to be raised on the wealthy ... despite the fact that a majority have said exactly that.

If the DNC had vocally attacked gop obstruction and framed a Democratic House as the cure; we would be having a very different conversation over the next 4 years.

because of gerrymandering. Boehner ran unopposed in the race, that is how bad the districts are.

On a district by district level, where GOP strongholds are sectored off from democratic contenders, it may be a while before we are able to recapture the house.

When the GOP made sweeping state house and governor captures in 2010, they got to handle redistricting, and that has hurt a lot of Democratic candidates. And I'm not sure how we can overcome that until the 2020 elections and redistricting.

Here in Texas, CD23 turned blue and the population continues to change from the south and west. Lamar Smith is next!

The thing to do now is put a big fat magnifying focus on every jobs bill and every bill proposed and make sure the American people know about it and get them to follow how their representatives intend to vote on it....stop letting this obstruction ....hide in the weeds go unnoticed and unchecked....

I'm not sure you're right. I am amazed at the outcomes from this election - especially the ballot initiatives. It appears to me that the dems did a strategic job of attacking the right and putting forth a positive message. I think if they had focused too much on republican obstructionism they would have looked like whiners and it would have backfired.

2012 has set a new stage. I'm starting to see the last 50 years in a new light of history. Starting with the Dems adoption of civil rights and the dixiecrat revolt - those actions are just now truly taking hold while the bigoted and the privileged are left reeling wondering what happened.

With that new stage, we can hammer the Republicans on obstructionism starting today and we need to keep hammering them on it until they either stop or lose in 2014. They are now in a position to look like whiners and they will reap the rewards of looking like spoiled brats.

If we start on that now, then 2015-2016 could be two very productive, very progressive years.

They are still going on about extending the Bush tax cuts.

Change it to, we are replacing the Bush tax cuts to Obama tax cuts, and here is our proposal:

Let that damn thing expire already.

And you would have ended with much the same House result. They gerrymandered it to hell and back,

disproven, thinking.

Instead of allowing the top rates to go up, which Republicans say would harm the economy, Mr. Boehner said Washington should end some deductions and loopholes to raise revenues. The economic growth that would result from a significant deficit reduction compromise would bring in additional revenues as well, he said.

Deficit reduction WILL NOT promote economic growth ... especially when the reductions are borne by the working class and/or a reduction in government spending.
