Tribute to North Carolina, Far From Lost

I want to recognize and celebrate all our people in North Carolina, and all those who traveled to NC to register and get voters out - from Tennessee, from South Carolina, from Virginia!

Yes, we would have like to win and hold the state. Would have liked to pick up a bunch of those state and local races. That hurts for sure. But there may be larger points.

Y'all kept Romney pinned down in North Carolina through election day. He had to scrap and fight and spend resources and keep staff there for the whole contest. He couldn't move resources and staff into Pennsylvania, Ohio, or other Rust Belt states. He couldn't shift them to Florida or Colorado.

Y'all fought one of the bravest and most determined rearguard actions in modern political history. So here's to you, Tar Heels! You're all heroes!

Keep the 2012 organizations for the 2014 contests! North Carolina, c'mon and RISE UP! .

2. NC will be solid blue in 10-15 years.

Counties and cities with universities were blue and that's a lot in NC. (Except Wilmington)

Durham-Duke & nc central
Wake/Raleigh - nc state
Orange/Chapel Hill - UNCCh
Forsyth/wake forest & WSSU
Guilders/Greensboro - UNCG & nc a&t
Pitt/Greenville- east Carolina
Mecklenburg/Charlotte-UNCC
Cumberland/fayetteville - FSU & fort Bragg


Most of northeast counties were blue.

That would be Guilford County which is where Greensboro and High Point are located. And it would be better to leave Wake Forest U. off your list of places to find Democratic votes. That's a high-roller, right wing school. 80% of the African-American enrollment there are on athletic scholarships and nearly all of them are from other states.
