The R percent of the vote in TX went up from 56% to 59% from 2008 to 2012.

The earliest Texas goes blue is 2028 realistically. Yes, metro areas are blue or close to blue but the rural vote is still very very large here and they get out and vote. Even 2028 may not happen.
