We need serious election reform in this country.

Harry Reid should spear head this in the Senate. It is clear that a large number of voters were disenfranchised in Florida and Virginia because of long lines and in Pennsylvania because of improper instructions to election judges about the need for an ID. Something should be done before the 2014 election to make it easier for people to vote. Every eligible voter has a SS # and SS records clearly show who is an eligible voter and who is not. A law amending the SS act to allow the SS#, along with proof of current address (Driver's licence, utility bill, etc) would allow same day registration at every voting precinct in the United States. Provisional ballots should only be allowed where a voter cannot prove current address. If the Republicans block this Obama should take it to the voters. This is a no brainer and would get wide support from everyone except the tea party radicals. The right to vote is basic to a democracy and Americans would support this in droves. It is unbelievable and a disgrace that we again have Florida still undecided two days after the election because of vote counting issues. If the election had come down to Florida it would be the 2000 nightmare all over again.

This is not coincidence. Every instance suppresses the Democratic vote. We need accountable voting machines with verifiable paper trails, equality in distributing voting equipment, and criminal prosecution of those who try to suppress the vote, whether by misinformation or deliberately creating obstacles to voting. If the GOP want to have picture ID, it needs to be issued FREE by local governments.

Rick Scott (R-FL-Medicare Fraud) and Tom Corbett (R-PA - Pedophile enabler) come to mind.
