2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumRomney concedes Florida--time for media to update the scoreboard.
Romneys Florida campaign has acknowledged their candidate lost in Florida as well. Romney already conceded the national race after he lost the other battleground states.
The numbers in Florida show this was winnable, Brett Doster, Florida advisor for Romney, said in a statement. We thought based on our polling and range of organization that we had done what we needed to win. Obviously, we didnt, and for that I and every other operative in Florida has a sick feeling that we left something on the table. I can assure you this wont happen again.
With Floridas 29 Electoral College votes, Obama will have 332 votes to Romneys 206.

(40,416 posts)1. The votes still have to be counted.
All Mitt's concensus means is that his campaign will not challenge the results. If the vote goes in his favor, he still gets the EVs. That's the law. Concessions are not legally binding. (IANAL)
As it looks now, Obama has this, so the case is moot. Obama gets 332 EVs when they finally call it.

(2,795 posts)4. They probably didn't put a huge groud game in Florida because Rick Scott was
promising plenty of voter suppression and disenfranchisement. If you can keep hundreds of thousands of people from voting, you don't need your A game on the ground in Florida.
I'm glad they under estimated the Florida voter
