On this week's 538 political podcast, Nate Silver warned that while Trump claims the polls underestimate his support, they could just as easily underestimate support for Hillary. Definitely worth a listen.

(34,661 posts)Polling in it's self is getting more and more difficult with all the new Social Media and the with the day of a land line all by disappeared. Example,2000 did some polling work part time during the fall campaigns. Our script was rehearsed for at least one hour before hitting the Phone Cubes. Notice I mention Phone cubes, every person I contacted was someone who had a land line and had voted in their most recent elections which would have been 1998 and were a registered to vote in the November 2000 elections. Would really be interested in just how Polling is done today. Internet polling is just so much bull and impossible to score for accuracy. Hope some one has the real story as to how it is now done.
