Ivanka Trump defended her father Donald Trump from charges that he was sexist, noting in an interview with CNN that he had promoted her to an executive position within his company.

“He’s absolutely not a sexist,” she told CNN’s Gloria Borger. “There’s no way I could be the person I am today if my father was a sexist.”

This whole family is delusional. You've got to be kidding me . . .

not that that's saying much, but i rather get the impression she knows exactly what's going on. she's been on the receiving end of his inappropriateness more than enough to know.

but she's made her deal with the devil. she knows her fortunes are pinned on the donald's image and she certainly wouldn't be helping herself if she admitted what she surely knows to be the truth.

early on, as trump was becoming more publicly political, she did express misgivings about the damage it might do to the brand.

i think she saw the train wreck coming, but there's really nothing she can do about it.


easy for us to say should could jump ship and start a new business on her own, but as a practical matter, few children of nepotism are capable of cutting themselves out of the family business and inheritance.
