NYT Indicts Itself & The Media With This

"Still, with the formal debates set to begin on Sept. 26, Mr. Lauer’s performance seemed to preview the troubles that television moderators could face in balancing fairness with accountability. Mr. Trump, with his Houdini-like ability to squirm out of direct answers, is a particularly tough subject for interviewers, who will be forced to determine on the fly when to interrupt with a prime-time fact-check. Chris Wallace, the Fox News anchor who will handle the third presidential debate, drew criticism this week when he said, “I don’t view my role as truth-squading."

A Houdini-like ability to squirm out of direct answers? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

Half of the country is sitting there, watching our inept, lazy, fucked-up media letting Trump get away with murder, shouting follow-up questions at their TV screens that a second-grader would have an easy time formulating. And yet our media can't even seem to say the words "you're lying" when the lies are as obvious as the size of Trump's ego.

I'll tell you what, NYT - let Joy Reid moderate a debate and we'll see just how "particularly tough a subject for interviewers" Donald Trump is when confronted by an actual self-respecting journalist. We'll see how long Trump gets away with his lies and stupidities before he walks off the set in a cowardly huff.

Well, the Times just admitted what 98% of our media should admit: "we're not up to the job."

a one-on-one interview with current controversial political figures, a Polish financial official in the segment I was watching. It was refreshing to see a journalist at work, as opposed to what we get stateside typically, overpaid actors who merely PLAY ones on TV - clowns who argue pepper spray is a food product.

3. How you short-circuit someone like Trump... Get him on something and hit him 3 times with it.

My doctor neighbor show me a really cool trick...

Their minds can only be asked or confronted with something 3 times before the blow a fuse.

1) If you catch them on something, directly confront them.

2) When they try to change the topic... redirect back to the same question/topic.

3) They will try to redirect again, hold their toes to the fire and don't let it happen.

After this third time, they will completely lose their shit.

It's so fun to watch. It's the only way to get back at these types.

The problem is, the MSM and most people, are easily distracted and follow the change of topic. Most people will allow the topic to change, which gives the person an escape from answering the first question. Matt Lauer showed that he is a weak interviewer.

That must not happen! It's very hard to stay focused, but when you do, their heads will start smoking.

They didn't get where they are by lack of talent for self aggrandizement. They like their cushy important-seeming jobs a whole lot, and spouting groupthink and exhibiting group behavior from inside the pack is where they want to be.

My guess is any fear of "Trump" would be not of him so much but of adversely affecting ratings and advertising revenue by angering his followers. In the end the same thing, of course, since he would sic his pack on their programming.

No longer understands what journalism is. Many people forget that George Orwell was a journalist along with being a novelist. This is what he said about journalism:

“Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed: everything else is public relations.”
