And the NBC executives are calling the CIC event a disaster because of Lauer's performance, Holt would be held to a higher standard and expected to push back on the more egregious lies.

The executives had a hand in this. Lauer is being thrown under the bus. The interview strategy was indicative of Comcast's position on the election.

Why does Comcast favor destroying America?

doesn't seem like much of a heavyweight, just a morning talk show host.
Lester Holt is a newsman.

I welcome any reason for changing my mind.

He didn't do a good job in preparing and it showed. NBC would have done better with a seasoned political journalist like Chris Matthews, Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, or Rachel Maddow.

I expect Lester Holt will do a better job of handling his duties. I haven't seen anything in his record that would make me question his abilities.
