2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumFucking sexism is what it is!
During my time in the military, there weren't a lot of us women. Those of us that served with mostly men had to work twice as hard, suck up the harassment and show no weakness. It didn't matter if the men did any of the above, women couldn't because in that world too many males still believed we had no place in the military. Any sign of weakness was seen as justification for their views and we should go home and make babies.
This whole thing about Hillary's health and having the misfortune of getting pneumonia is nothing short of the sexist bullshit women have tolerated not just from many men, but some women as well. My own mother at one time believed only a man should be in the WH. I disabused her of that notion.
Women have been slammed and denigrated for the audacity of having hormones and monthly periods that play havoc with our bodies. Our physical and emotional health are punchlines.
Past presidents have had health issues which have gotten a free pass by the press. Trump's so-called letter of good health from that idiot was barely scrutinized.
Hillary knows she can't show even a hint of weakness and the one second she does, everyone goes bat fucking shit crazy. She got pneumonia. She had it during the commander-in-chief forum. She did what many of us women did in the military. She did her job. She didn't complain about it, offer up excuses or even take a day off.
Tomorrow, all the news outlets are going to cover Hillary and her pneumonia like it's the most important story of the decade. They're going to roll through her past footage, play armchair doctors and make inexplicable pronouncements about her health and some of those are going to be out-of-bounds and a few will be outright farcical.
No other candidate will get this level of scrutiny and there is only one reason for it.

(21,056 posts)and yeah, drumf's "doctor" and that screwball 5 minute letter with weird wording that he said he chose because he knew drumf would want it that way, was barely scrutinized!
if Hillary had such a weird letter by a gut doctor, they'd be on it all week.
and mind you, this also is the candidate who won't release his tax returns when his claim to being worthy to being president is his great Great GREAT business sense! lol

It is the over reaction on everything that Hillary does that points to sexism. "She is shrill, she yells, she's angry, she doesn't smile, people don't like her etc." They have been spewing this garbage for decades against her.
It was just two days ago Hillary commented that a fair number of trump supporters were racist, sexist, xenophobes, and the so-called media were up in arms. Where were they when trump and his supporters have been spewing their racial slurs, and other profanities, including death threats toward Hillary and her supporters.
The double stand is so apparent, it is pathetic, and the press is a large part of the problem, though unfortunately what this election season should have shown, and the last eight years of the Obama administration is that the country has a large number of people who tend to be racists and sexist.
It is outrageous that the media seems to push this as "normal behavior". That speaks volumes about them
