‘This is badgering’: Trump campaign manager comes unglued when CNN asks for proof of charity claims

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway lashed out at CNN host Alisyn Camerota on Tuesday and accused the media of “badgering” Donald Trump because he would not provide evidence of his charitable donations.

During an interview with Conway on CNN’s New Day, Camerota noted that Trump had refused to release his tax returns because he was being audited, and asked the campaign manager if she would provide a letter from the IRS to prove he was under audit.

“I don’t know,” Conway shrugged. “Why? Are you calling him a liar?”

“And we’re taking Hillary Clinton’s word for she was ‘overheated’,” she added. “I mean, seriously, we’re running against a Clinton and we’re going to challenge someone’s veracity?”

Who knows, perhaps the IRS has completed their audit and she's lying. Love the way she shiftted to Hillary. That we are taking her word that she got heated. Well we also know now that she has pneumonia. We don't know anything about Lyin Trump. I hope everyone would encourage the media to start asking him for a letter from the IRS stating that he is currently under audit, and keep it up. We know this man has not plans to release his taxes, but if we keep up the pressure with the media to ask for proof that he's under audit currently than who knows what might come of it. For now, he's given all of us the middle finger, and if we do nothing, there is a 100% chance that we get nothing, either before or after the election. If we keep asking the media to ask him for a letter of proof that he's under audit currently, if nothing else, it will get under his skin and who knows what will happen. Perhaps someone from the IRS will say, "No. Mr Trumps audit was completed in August. " An employee saying that his audit is complete, would not be the same as an employee telling us that he's paid no taxes or other personal information which could get someone in serious trouble.

..... which come out of that woman's mouth when Trump is questioned. She is running the Trump campaign now and she follow the directions she gives to other Trump surrogates - when Trump actions, words or complete lack of transparency are questioned by reporters, don't answer the question. Immediately deflect be going after Clinton on multiple issues as quickly as possible and, if that doesn't work, go after the reporter for asking the question.

Hopefully the viewing public sees through what they are consistently doing, but sometimes I have my doubts.

@KellyannePolls "Badgering"? Awwww, where's my itty bitty violin? Guess you'd rather than dish it out than be forced to take it? #ImWithHer

@KellyannePolls SO distressed that you're forced to answer questions? Boo hoo! Not fooled by your evade-the-question tactics. @BorisEP #HRC

@KellyannePolls <- that's her Twitter handle.

I just sent these, for example. Added the handle of that annoying Rude Boy, "Babbling Boris" Epshteyn. @BorisEP He needs to have derision heaped on him, too.

Also fun to include another hashtag or another person's address - so the original recipient knows others are getting this, too. Actively, as in - you're delivering it to their page too - as opposed to passively when you simply post a tweet that others can read if they scroll through your page. (Or down your page, whatever the proper terminology is.) I'm learning more as I do it. (I think.)

And if you wanna roll somebody else in on the news end, go to this link and scroll down. There are several posts listing Twitter handles of a whole lotta newspeople (Post 30 & Post 16, for example).

http://www.democraticunderground.com/12512400046

Rope other relevant people in on this as much as you can, within that 140-character limit. I've found that if you post a link in the tweet, to bolster your point, the character count of that link actually DOESN'T count. My apologies to others here who already know how to navigate around the Twitter world and don't need some rank amateur's "tutorial". To them, I'd appeal - PLEASE JOIN IN! I wish I knew as much about this stuff as you do! Please come help me!

Her technique is called the Gish Gallop..

it would be good to get that term out there...and use it over and over again..until it becomes part
of our political dialogue...For instance an interviewer stating ,”There you go again with the Gish Gallop”
then defining it to the audience, over and over again.

46. WHOA!!! Really? I didn't know there was actually a term for it!
Tue Sep 13, 2016, 01:01 PM
Sep 2016

DAYUM! That's IT, too!

The "Gish Gallop." Holy crap!

I never studied debate technique in school. I don't think they offered anything of the kind at my school(s). So I'm just learning this stuff, other than by simple but careful observation as others do it. Btw - I notice that THEY ALL do it. That motormouth Babbling Boris Epshteyn does it all the time. That Steve Cortes guy does it all the time. OR, watch Joy Reid. Whoever she shuts down. Which happens often. She's WAY aware of this. And she doesn't let them get away with it. Thank God!

These are tactics. These are devices. Strategies. And there's all kinds of 'em. Like, for example, ever watch Ted Cruz speaking? He has this "device" in his debate-school arsenal. The pause. I notice he employs this technique ALL THE FUCKING TIME! It's about two or three seconds long. He closes his lips and just looks. And enjoys the dead air for a moment or two.

When I was in radio, dead air was what you avoided AT ALL COSTS! You had to keep the meter bouncing. You had to keep something on the air because with dead air, people eventually tune away. HOWEVER, the right amount of dead air, used judiciously, can grab attention. It's an instant break from all the nonstop blah-blah-blah - or in this case, "Gish Gallop." In music, as I've learned from being around and working with my son's band, sometimes a pause, a moment of silence, in the middle of a song, YANKS the ear over and GRABS your attention. You notice it. You react. You stop and say "what?" Or "what just happened?" It compels you to keep listening and paying attention, at least for a bit, until you're lulled back into a semi-bored/semi-daydream state by the ongoing din that resumes.

I find I watch these assholes closely, trying to figure out what they're doing, subliminally. What they're trying to convey and HOW they're trying to convey it. HOW they're trying to work on you, the listener, and either wear you down or sell their point or confuse the issue so you just throw up your hands and say "fuck it," but the barrage has already "taken," and you're left with this odd low-level feeling - "hmmm... did he have a point?" or "hmmm... was she right?"

This is psy-ops. This is mind-fucking. This is subliminal manipulation. Manipulate and play people so subtly that they don't even notice. They don't feel a thing. They don't see what's in your other hand while the hand they're looking at is flapping and gesticulating wildly and drawing your attention like some shiny object. Be aware of it. And also - be aware of HOW YOU'RE FEELING while it's going on. What is it doing to your awareness and your consciousness and your ability to discern whether they're bullshitting you or not. These are devices and tricks and tactics and strategies. Be aware of them. Be watching for them and for how these people are trying to play you.

FYI:

Kellyanne Conway - @KellyannePolls
Steve Cortes - @CortesSteve
Boris Epshtyen - @BorisEP
(Shit - Boris and Steve even look alike!)

Unfortunately, they have given a loud voice and platform of hate, disregard for truth, disrespect of honesty and social indecency to hordes of the ugliest of Americans who now feel entitled to practice their kind of behavior without accountability or responsibility.

They have always been here. Freedom has costs. We as a country have learned to live with them and until recent years have managed to over power them with a larger common sensibility and intelligently practiced, broader "higher road" speech and actions. But now they have been given the unchecked green light to run rampant.

In this instance, it is not their brand of ignorance or meanness we have to fear. It is their vote.
