Team Hillary is Effing Brilliant
All we've heard for months is that Trump is not your typical political opponent, that he's the teflon Don, that the rules don't apply to him. The media points to the primaries, ecstatically reporting how he crushed his R opponents and clutching their pearls in feigned concern that Hillary won't be able to fight him either. He's just that unpredictable, it's not your usual election year, etc, etc.
Guess what? Team Hillary knows how to fight Trump. It's working, and they're winning.
The secret: they realized long ago that the media is worthless when it comes to examining Trump for what he isn't, that the media is hostile to Hillary and always will be, and that no matter what the polls say, the media will report a non-existent horse race. Team Hillary has countered by doing an end run around the media, buying immense amounts of ad time and running a never-ending series of Trump-bashing spots that turn his words against him. The media may not give Hillary equal time in free air time, but they cannot turn away her money, so she is getting her message out without their "help."
In addition, they have analyzed Trump perfectly, baiting him into corners that he didn't see coming. He and the media have taken the bait, and Team Hillary is now controlling the conversation and the news cycle.
The funny thing is that the media doesn't sense what's going on. Team Hillary is using the media's foibles and obsessions against them. It's a thing of beauty.
