Shepard Smith, Fox News, trashing Trump over birtherism

(Sometimes I like to check out the right wing to see what they're talking about)

Shepard Smith, Fox News, spent the first 30 minutes of his show today saying Trump is lying when he blames Clinton for starting birtherism:

She did not! Trump did. Trump’s admission now that Obama was born in America is an attempt by Trump to reach out to the African American community, which is not working !

He went on-and-on attacking Trump, showed video clips of the Congressional Black Caucus attacking Trump, interviewed other Fox reporters ~ all on how Trump is lying, and numerous times saying and getting other Fox reporters to admit Trump has lied numerous times about many issues.

What the Hell?

It was presented as a news event and press conference and it turned out to be a campaign rally/forced commercial for his hotel.

I would think any business that considers itself as a news network would be pissed over that stunt.

+ 1 million.

Management can make a difference, even if it just in small steps to start with.

He just had the highest profile. I remember that crazy Russian dentist/lawyer who kept bringing the issue to court. I wonder what ever happened to her. She was totally nuts!

Actually I am surprised she is not working for the Trump campaign. I think there was an eruption from her on the Cruz birther issue.

I've been trying to remember her name. I can hear her crazy voice very clearly and see her face, but the name eluded me.

Maybe she was too nuts even for Trump?

She was actually in the news today.

Orly Taitz is one of the most famous birthers in the country, after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. So she paid attention to the news on Thursday and Friday, when Trump’s campaign and then the candidate himself finally acknowledged that President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

Taitz, a California-based dentist and lawyer who is sometimes called the “birther queen,” disagrees. But she said she still supports Trump, and does not think his comments were a blow to her years-long effort to expose what she believes is a cover-up of Obama’s true origins.

“People understand that we are just 53 days before the election ― we’re just eight weeks before the election,” she said in an interview. “So Donald Trump is doing what he needs to do. The most important thing is for him to win and to make this country great. This movement was never about Donald Trump, the movement was about Barack Obama.”

It may be true that the birther movement was about Obama and not Trump. But Trump commandeered it for years by using his platform as a celebrity to raise questions about whether Obama was lying about his birthplace. Regardless of whether or not he said “President Obama was born in the United States” on Friday, he partially built his political career on boosting the ideas of people like Taitz.

Kornacki was interviewing has-been nobody former congresscritter jack Kingston, R-Ga, about today's announcement. He let JK push the "Hillary did it first" meme. Finally Kornacki told him to prove that Hillary said it even once. Kingston replied it was her surrogates, but Kornacki failed to reply that the people who tried to do it were fired from the campaign, and they were only volunteers.

It was all over social media of course, but as I recall he was one of the first, if not THE first to expose the callous disregard of these people that were abandoned.
