The media can't help themselves with the false equivalencies.
Jake Tapper of CNN, a little while ago was discussing the morning's events with two reporter. The first one was Jackie Kucinich and she reported that her sources said that the Trump campaign (Kellyanne) had wanted him to get the Birther issue out of the way today so that it wouldn't have to be addressed during the debates. Trump did not want to discuss it, but this is the venue they chose. Jackie assured Jake that this is not how Kellyanne would have wanted this to end. Jake then stated that both candidates seem to have a problem not listening to their advisers and she and the other guy (don't recall his name) seemed to nod in agreement and they all laughed. They then seemed to launch into a discussion of this false equivalency. (Preserving privacy vs Jerking the Media's chain)
Right!!! Once again the media creates a false equivalency that the two incidents are the same, i.e. comparing concealment of pneumonia to Trump creating this big media game jerking incident, whereby he leads the media around by their chain creating a spectacle regarding some BIG announcement he was going to make, all while making fools of the media and a couple dozen former military, into showing up at the Open House to show off his new hotel and forcing the media and the public to listen to these retired military men sing their praises of Trump. Having garnered maximum suspense out of this little 'chain jerker', he then takes about 40 seconds to crudely announced that the Birther lie started with Hillary and he ended it. Which was another lie.
This is ridiculous to compare Hillary who didn't want to tell the world that she had walking Pneumonia when she thought that she could "power" through it. (her words not mine) Particularly since in the preceding weeks, Right Wingnuts were parroting a lie, to the media and the internet, that she was sick and had some disease (Parkinson's Disease) after doctoring videos and placing them on the internet.To have acknowledged she had Pneumonia, would have led to accusations that she was lying and covering up up for the fact that she really had Parkinson Disease. The fact that Jake Trapper sees these two events as similar, is truly frightening. We know longer have a free media. We have a STUPID media which is incapable of discerning fact from fiction, and the grading assigned to each.
